Modern Slavery Statement

1. Introduction

Modern slavery is a real and pressing issue worldwide. It takes many nefarious forms and can exist unwittingly in the supply chains of even highly ethical companies. Northslope Technologies Inc. is responsible for taking real and tangible steps to prevent and root out modern slavery throughout its supply chain. We certainly would not tolerate any form of modern slavery within our organisation and take active steps to prevent this.

2. Organisational structure and supply chains

We are a leader in the delivery of software and AI solutions across public and private organisations. Headquartered in Denver and London, we have employees based across the USA, UK, and several other countries. Our supply chain can be categorised into 3 broad areas: information and communication technologies (ICT) hardware, licensed software tools, and facilities management. Northslope works primarily with reputable key market leaders in each category which have in turn committed themselves to vet and monitor for modern slavery among their downstream suppliers. We may collect the following types of information:

3. Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

Our personnel are required to comply with our strict commitment to ethical business practices, which includes reviewing and accepting this policy as a condition of engagement with Northslope. We generally contract only with larger, reputable providers, and avoid contracting with suppliers based in industries or regions of the world where the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking are known to be high.We are a young company and will continually refine our efforts to root out and prevent any form of modern slavery in our company or supply chain. If we were to ever receive any report or other evidence of modern slavery, we would thoroughly investigate and take decisive and effective steps to comprehensively address the issue.  To date, we are not aware of any instances of modern slavery occurring within our businesses or within our supply chain, but we remain vigilant. We may use the collected information for the following purposes:

4. Due diligence processes, risk assessment & management

We thoroughly vet each new supplier in relation to slavery and human trafficking. Our due diligence and reviews include, wherever appropriate:

  • Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier.
  • Conducting supplier audits or assessments which have a greater degree of focus on slavery and human trafficking where general risks are identified.
  • When a supplier is deemed to be higher risk by country of origin and/or lack of suitable policy/processes, an investigation will be conducted by senior members of the team which could result in relationships with the vendor being terminated.
  • Due to the nature of our supply chain, Modern Slavery risks are inherently higher in the ICT hardware category, as the production process relies on factory labour. Additional steps to manage the risk include sourcing goods from recognisable brands and reputable resellers, with evidenced processes and policies in place, along with products and suppliers that are assessed based on the country of origin.

5. Key performance indicators to measure effectiveness of steps being taken

We will log any complaints received via our ethics hotline system or through other sources, together with the actions taken. To the date of this statement, Northslope has had no identified instances of modern slavery.

6. Training on modern slavery and trafficking

Northslope will provide periodic training to our people on the subject of modern slavery and steps all of our team members can take to address it. Realizing our management team cannot identify every possible instance of modern slavery on our own, our personnel are made fully aware that tackling this problem is a group effort, and are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activity to our management team.If you would like to find out more about the above, please email . Northslope takes responsibility for this statement and its related objectives and will review and update it in accordance with The Modern Slavery Act.
